Dr. Eugenio Rasio is full professor in the Department of Medicine at the Université de Montréal and active member of the Endocrinology Services of the Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM). He is a member of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences and Associate Director of Research & Academic Affairs of the CHUM Research Centre since 1997. As an endocrinologist, Dr. Rasio focuses on the physiopathology of blood capillary permeability in pituitary tumours, obesity and anorexia nervosa. Aside from his clinical and research activities, Dr. Rasio was also Director of the Department of Nutrition (1982-1990), Director of the Centre de recherche Louis-Charles Simard, Hôpital Notre-Dame (1990-1997), Director of the Department of Medicine (1999-2003) and Acting Director of the CHUM Research Centre from June 2006 to June 2007. During his career, Dr. Rasio published more than 184 articles and abstracts in peer-reviewed scientific journals and has written several book chapters.
