Message from the Director

Guy A. Rouleau, M.D., Ph.D.In its most recent development plan, the Université de Montréal identified neurosciences and functional genomics as being strategic sectors for the development of biomedical research. In order to pursue its strategy, the University created the Centre of Excellence in Neuromics of Université de Montréal (CENUM), of which I am the founding director. The CENUM’s main objectives are to determine the causes and to identify the possible treatment for a wide variety of diseases of the nervous system. The efforts of the Centre focus on genomics, cellular biology, animal models, and nano-imagery. Even though the direction of the CENUM is located at the Notre-Dame Hospital of the Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM), the Centre is a network of physicians and researchers from numerous departments of the Université de Montréal and from affiliated institutions. Already, more than fifty physicians and researchers from different domains related to neurosciences are presently members of the CENUM.

I hope you enjoy your visit and I invite you to send us your comments by writing to info.cenum@crchum.qc.ca
